Entry title: Youth For Christ-- Youth Camp.
Date / Time : 4.26.2009 / 6:34 AM
This was my very first time to attend the YFC camp. I'm a member of YFC but I didn't attend the camp last year (when I was still in my freshmen days).
Anyway. I attended this year's camp because I felt that I was way too far from God. I can't sleep; bad things or bad images kept on appearing in my mind. And so much more. I admit I wasn't forced by my parents; they don't even know what's this YFC. I felt nervous at first because I thought I will feel 'out of place' since I don't have any close friend who'll attend this camp. Well actally I have one, it's Kent. But unfortunately, he didn't come.
As I entered the school, Ate Shammie grabbed my bag. and I was shocked why, she said it was a service team's duty. Okay. :-J Then I entered the room and saw Marie. Wee. And there, may kasama na ako. :)) Haha.
First talk; God's love and his plan for us by Ate Anne. I've learned that every one of us has a purpose. Every thing that is happening is under God's control. It's up to us if we're going to choose the right path or the wrong ones. That's why God gave us the most wonderful gift except life; it's freedom. We are the one who decides for ourselves. And one more, Sin is the gap between You/I/we and God.
Second Talk; Who is Jesus Christ to me? by Ate Maui. Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the savior, the newborn king, and the son of God. Jesus saved us from our sins. Jesus is the only person who is humble.
Third Talk; Repentance and Believe in the Gospel by Ate Nica. Repentance is being sorry or turning yourselfin front of the sin you've done. There are a lot of Misconceptions of Repentance like sorrow and converted life. Now believe? Hmm. Simply means, have faith in God. Once you've said that, you've said that. Everything is possible with God as long as you have a very strong faith in him. There are 4H's: Honesty, Humility, Hate the sin and Have a good confession.
Fourth Talk by Kuya Eiron. Sorry, I forgot the title. Hoho. The talk was all about recieving the holy Spirit. Actually, we already have this holy spirit within us but it's up to us how we're going to use it. Faith is also here. Whenever you're alone, whenever you're nervous, you are definitely safe. Because when yo're nervous, that's the time you need God; you need Jesus. Be scared if you're not nervous; for God isn't there to guide you. Have Faith anyway. I cried in this talk. Seriously. We participants are baptized in this talk and it felt oh-so-good. :)
Fifth Talk; Growing of the Holy Spirit (I'm not sure) by Kuya Ebad. There are three ways on how to strengthen the relationship between you and God. Pray and Study your Scriptures, Fellowship and Service. I've also learned what ACTS-O mean. ACTS-O is the right way of praying. Adoration, Contrition, Thanks Giving and Supplication. If possible, we should have the letter O which is Offering. God already gave us everything; we should learn how to give those things back to god by simply doing sacrificing or fasting. :D
Wee. The end. I'm now a certified YFC member. :D I love God. :X
